Encounter the Peak Wonderland: A Muslim-Friendly 5-Day Private Tour in Zhangjiajie
We originally planned our own 5-day Zhangjiajie trip. After calculating accommodation, attraction tickets, high-speed train tickets, transport and searching for halal restaurants, our estimated budget was 9600 MYR. After connecting with our guide Zain, he customized this Muslim-friendly private itinerary for us, pre-booked all attraction tickets and high-speed train tickets, arranged 24-hour private car service, and arranged certified halal meals throughout the trip. The total cost came to 8300 MYR, saving us 1300 MYR in total. There were no hidden charges at all.

Day 1: Zhangjiajie airport/station pick-up (24-hour private car) - Check-in at a 4-diamond hotel
When we arrived at Zhangjiajie airport, our 24-hour private car driver waited for us in advance and transferred us straight to the hotel for check-in. No sightseeing was scheduled on this day so we could rest and recharge. The schedule was relaxed, the pickup service was responsive, and the 4-diamond hotel was clean and comfortable.
·It is said that Zhang Liang of the Han Dynasty once lived in seclusion around Huangshizhai, and many ancient hermit legends circulate among these mountains.
·Confirm your hotel location in advance and keep your phone accessible after arrival for driver contact.
Day 2: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (Huangshi Village - Golden Whip Stream) - Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon (Glass Bridge)
In the morning we visited Huangshizhai viewing platform to overlook thousands of rocky peaks and strolled along the gentle trail of Golden Whip Stream amid dense woods and flowing brooks. In the afternoon we headed for Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon and walked on the famous glass bridge over the deep valley. The scenery was rich and varied, combining forest hiking and stunning high-altitude views. Our driver-guide planned the route well, and the halal lunch suited our taste.
·Golden Whip Stream served as an outdoor shooting site for the classic Journey to the West, and the valley enjoys fresh air all year round, known as a natural oxygen bar.
·Wild macaques live along Golden Whip Stream. Do not feed them or carry plastic bags in hand. The glass bridge is windy, bring a light jacket.

Day 3: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (Yuanjiajie - Bailong Elevator - Avatar Mountain - Tianzi Mountain - Ten-mile Gallery)
We entered Yuanjiajie scenic spot early in the morning to visit the prototype of Avatar’s Hallelujah Mountain, then rode Bailong Elevator, the world’s tallest outdoor elevator, downhill. Later we toured Tianzi Mountain and wandered along Ten-mile Gallery at dusk, seeing rolling peaks like a traditional Chinese landscape scroll. We immersed ourselves in world-class karst peaks all day, the attractions were arranged compactly with manageable pace and plenty of rest stops.
·Tianzi Mountain got its name from the legend of Tujia leader Xiang Dakun, who called himself the Son of Heaven here, and local people named the mountain in memory of him.
·There is plenty of walking in the park, wear non-slip comfortable sneakers. Mountain weather changes quickly, carry a lightweight raincoat.

Day 4: Tianmen Mountain - Bullet train to Furong Town - Waterfall views & night magic in an ancient Tujia village
In the morning we visited Tianmen Mountain to admire the natural Tianmen Cave and rode the famous Tianmen Mountain cableway. Afterwards we took the high-speed bullet train to Furong Town. In the evening we watched the huge waterfall pouring beside the ancient town and wandered the illuminated old streets to experience the night charm of the Tujia village. This day combined mountain caves and an ancient waterside town with a perfect balance, and the night view of the old town was amazing.
·There is an ancient legend of hidden treasures on Tianmen Mountain, and the huge natural cave was formed by millions of years of water erosion.
·Tickets for Tianmen Mountain need advance booking. There is a big temperature drop at night in Furong Town, and the stone paths are slippery, walk slowly.

Day 5: Take the bullet train back to Zhangjiajie - Transfer to the station or airport - End of tour
We took the morning bullet train back to Zhangjiajie from Furong Town. Our private car waited punctually and transferred us to airport or railway station according to our travel plan, wrapping up this five-day wonderland trip smoothly. The final day was unrushed with plenty of buffer time for our departure.
·Furong Town has over 2,000 years of history, it is an ancient Tujia town built beside a huge waterfall.
·Double-check your high-speed train schedule, pack luggage in advance and reserve enough travel time to avoid missing trains or flights.
