2. Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Tiananmen, the Forbidden City and Shichahai

•I started my journey early in the morning at Tiananmen Square. The wide and tidy square felt extremely solemn. Standing in the center, I could fully feel the dignity and greatness of this city. Right in front of me stood the iconic Tiananmen Gate, with red walls and golden roofs shining brightly under the sun. It was such a shocking and proud scene.

·Then I entered the Forbidden City, also known as the Palace Museum. Walking through the red gate was like traveling back to the ancient imperial era. Row after row of symmetrical palaces, carved railings and golden glazed tiles showed the supreme royal style of ancient China. The huge courtyards, ancient wooden buildings and delicate cultural relics all told long historical stories. I wandered slowly along the central axis, enjoying the grand and classical Chinese architecture.

·In the afternoon, I climbed Jingshan Park behind the Forbidden City. Standing on the top platform, I had a panoramic view of the entire Forbidden City. The whole palace complex was neat, spectacular and incredibly beautiful. After visiting so many historic buildings, I truly admired the wisdom of ancient Chinese craftsmen.

Day 2: Summer Palace and Old Hutongs

•On the second day, I visited the Summer Palace, the most famous royal garden in China. As soon as I stepped in, I was attracted by the perfect combination of mountains and water. The vast Kunming Lake looked like a quiet blue sea. Long corridors, elegant pavilions and stone bridges were dotted among green trees and clear water. Every corner was like a traditional Chinese painting.

·I walked along the lake and enjoyed the fresh air and beautiful scenery. In every season, the Summer Palace has its own unique charm. Here, I could feel the leisurely life of ancient royal families and appreciate the exquisite garden art of China.

·In the afternoon, I wandered in the old hutongs near Nanluoguxiang. Narrow alleys, grey brick walls and old courtyards showed the original style of old Beijing. Different from the grand imperial buildings, hutongs carried warm daily life and simple folk customs. I visited many creative small shops and felt the perfect combination of tradition and fashion.

4.  Final Thoughts

Before leaving, I felt really reluctant to say goodbye. Beijing is not merely a modern metropolis, but also a living museum of history and culture. In just two days, I experienced solemn imperial history, elegant garden scenery and warm city fireworks. This trip has become one of my most precious travel memories. I truly believe Beijing is a charming city worth visiting again and again.
