We got to see Beijing’s most famous historic spots and the beautiful night scenery of the Great Wall. Exploring the old hutongs and trying local art and dinner was a lovely touch. It’s worth noting that the guide only joined us for the first day, while our stay at Beijing WTown was self-guided. Transfers ran on time, and the whole trip flowed smoothly. The lit-up Simatai Great Wall at night was absolutely breathtaking and the highlight of our whole journey.
A nice short trip mixing city heritage and mountain views. We wandered Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and charming Shichahai hutongs with a guide on day one. Then we headed to Beijing WTown to view Simatai Great Wall after dark. There was no guide during the town stay, which gave us freedom to wander at our own pace. Transport arrangements were reliable, and we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere of the water town after sunset.
